The Ebola epidemic is on every one’s lips, its on every news station and its killing people and causing a type of fear that not even Boko Haram with its terror could instill. People greet others from far nowadays, people hardly shake hands not to talk of hugging.
We have suddenly forgotten who we are because of Ebola. I don’t know about you but I am the child of the Most High God and Ebola cannot come near me and my family.
We have been told to use hand sanitizers, warned not to eat fruits without washing them, advised to avoid unneccasarily physical contact with people. All these are true and you should abide by them but remember 1 Samuel 2:9 says “..by strength shall no man prevail” and Zechariah 4:6 also says “not by power or by might but by the Spirit of God”. No matter how careful we are, we should never be dismayed, afraid or troubled. Can Ebola affect Jesus Christ if He were on earth? So it can’t affect you because even Jesus Christ said in John 14:12 that “…”Whoever believes in me will do the works that I have done and more”.
Think strength, don’t think fear. If unbelievers are afraid of Ebola and you (The Child of God) is also afraid of Ebola, so what stands you out?
The remedy/cure to the Ebola epidemic is in Psalms 91 which reads:
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence (ebola).
4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence (ebola) that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side (they may fall in Guinea or Liberia or Sierra Leone), ten thousand at your right hand (they may fall even in Nigeria), but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you make the Most High your dwelling even the LORD, who is my refuge,
10 then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent (not even ebola).
11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways (you and your family will not make contact with an ebola victim);
12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
Verses 9 and 10 are powerful and you should work towards making God your refuge and be rest assured that no harm (Ebola or not) will come near you. Stay blessed.
