There are times we are faced with problems, things aren’t looking good for you, your mates are getting married but your here single and heartbroken. You don’t have a job or you don’t like your job. Things aren’t just working for you and you think of giving up. I have just one passage for you. Just one. Its the most powerful passage when it comes to tackling troubled times. When faced with troubles/problems, have these 4 things in mind:
1. What you are going through is common. Our hardships are not unique to us. No matter what you are going through, remember you are not the only one going through that same thing. Someone has gone through it and some people are currently going through it. Even the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 10:13a “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind”. Its not the worst case scenario in the World. People are going through worst. Its difficult but its not the worst case scenario. Don’t magnify your problem beyond its size.
2. God remains faithful at all times no matter what we are going through. 1 Corinthians 10:13b says “And God is faithful”. He is a faithful God. You can’t serve Him and be dismayed or disgraced. I can’t predict what will happen in the Nigerian economy because its not within my power but my condition, my future is within my power because I trust in God.
3. What you are going through is not beyond you. God knows your capacity, He knows what you are capable of. He knows your limits. He knows what you can handle. He knows what you can go through and pass. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 10:13c “God will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear..” God will never allow you go through a situation that you can’t handle. For you to face that circumstance, God knows that you are capable of handling and overcoming it.
4. There is always a way out of every problem. Hopelessness is the worst thing that can happen to anyone. Hopelessness is what would make some one commit suicide because he/she sees no way out of their predicament so dieing is the only way to escape it all. 1 Corinthians 10:13d says “But when you are tempted, God will also provide a way out so that you can endure it”. Remember, in every situation you find yourself, there is ALWAYS a way of escape. It is not a dead end. People can’t see a way forward because they keep their eyes glued on the things that have gone wrong. There is always a message in every mess. There is always a testimony for every test. It’s not bigger than you.
Remember, what you are going through is not new for God is faithful. He will not let you be to be tempted beyond what you can handle and He will make a way out of that trouble only trust Him. Whenever troubles, situations, circumstances try to overwhelm you, overcome with the words in 1 Corinthians 10:13. God bless you.
